Vampire-themed action-RPG Code Vein has been delayed into 2019 •

Bandai Namco’s vampire-themed action-RPG Code Vein has officially been delayed, and will now release in 2019.

Code Vein was originally due to release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC this September, but, in an official press statement, Bandai Namco said that it had chosen to postpone the game in order to “further refine its gameplay in an effort to exceed the expectations fans already have of the title”.

On Twitter, the publisher further noted that the move had been made based on feedback received over the last few months, during the likes of E3 and the Anime Expo. “It was a difficult decision to make,” it said, “but we feel it is the correct one.”

Code Vein is being developed by the team behind Bandai Namco’s God Eater series, and unfolds in an post-apocalyptic, open-world dystopia. Its story revolves around a vampiric Revenant, who gains supernatural powers after drinking blood, and features action that’s drawn heavy comparisons to From Software’s Dark Souls series.

Code Vein certainly looks intriguing, so hopefully Bandai Namco will be in a position to offer a more specific release window for the game soon.
